About us
Urban Rural Development Organization-Uganda (URUDO-Uganda), founded in 2009, has been an operational Community Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to girls’ education, environmental protection activities and the strengthening of vulnerable and disadvantaged youth outside of school in Lyantonde District, Uganda. Over years, URUDO-Uganda has made a significant contribution to civil society and the communities. It works with respect to promoting education of the vulnerable girls, vocational skills among the youth, environmental protection and conservation practices, water, sanitation, and hygiene.
URUDO-Uganda was founded for the specific purpose of strengthening community resilience through biodiversity conservation, education, and vocational skills development.

Our Mission
To strengthen community capacity to eradicate poverty through education, vocational skills development, and dissemination of environmentally sound practices.
Objectives:
• To empower the vulnerable young girls through education to improve their livelihoods.
• To educate the community on sanitation related issues and preventive measures on HIV/AIDS, malaria and other common diseases.
• To empower the orphans, widows, and widowers to start income generating projects.
• To mobilize rural communities to plant trees to create a sink tank for urban pollutants.
• To collaborate with the government and others stake holders to improve the conditions of rural communities to increase household incomes.
• To eradicate poverty through youth, women and orphan mobilization towards job creating activities.
• To mobilize the communities to realize the importance and use of clean water in their families and assisting them to construct easy and rainwater harvesting tanks.
• To mobilize the communities to realize the importance and use of clean energy sources in their families.
