About us
EQUITY Tanzania is a membership based organization established in 1994 and registered officially in 1998 under the Societies Ordinance.
EQUITY is committed to strengthening the capacity of families to discharge their role and functions through advocacy for appropriate laws and policies and provision of support services and assistance. EQUITY believes that a strong family base will lead to a strong and a better nation and ultimately a better world.
The mission of EQUITY is to advocate for fairness and justice between women and men and among the marginalized, vulnerable and different age and social groups in the society.
Its current program that is ongoing is the gender and justice initiative whose activities include research and policy advocacy on human rights and gender equity and equality.
EQUITY has developed a training manual that it uses to train NGOs, CBOs and law enforcers on human rights and gender.
EQUITY is also implementing a communication for advocacy strategy for eradication of gender-based violence with media institutions.
For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Further we can give an expert guidance through trained staff and an expert opinion, deliver a lecture, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the following field: human rights, gender, pro-poor policy formulation, women and children issues.
