About us

Springs of Hope Foundation is an internationally registered NGO in Iraq and the USA, living and working on the ground in Iraq with suffering minority communities.
Our motto is: Rebuilding Lives. Transforming Community. Changing Culture.
At Springs of Hope Foundation (SOHF), we embody the transformative power of restoration amidst the challenges of broken lives in a community marked by hardship. Beyond mere rhetoric, our daily commitment extends to patiently supporting individuals shattered by hatred, offering a quiet presence until the moment healing is ready to unfold. Our dedicated team of 32 local staff makes a daily choice for peace, residing among the vulnerable and embracing the marginalized as family.

Our mission
Our mission is to provide unwavering support and love to the Yezidi, Syrian and Christians in Kurdistan and Iraq, offering hope to build futures shattered by conflict and displacement.

Our vision
The vision of USA Springs of Hope Foundation Inc is to create stimulating educational and rehabilitational campuses for the Yezidi and Syrian communities. where safety, protection, respect and dignity in a post-genocide society, are of paramount importance.

Our work
Within each campus SOHF provides a continuum of educational, therapeutic and basic needs programmes along with sustainable life skills vocational programmes, each suited to the ongoing community needs.

Initiatives, Programs, and Projects

• Hopefully Yours: Hopefully Yours is a gentle programme to help those who have lost their life, find it. To learn how to mentally and emotionally walk out of captivity and engage with life, family and community. Springs of Hope rebuilds the lives of hundreds of Yezidi orphans who were rescued from ISIS.
• Sewing Hope: Sewing Hope is a lifestyle of empowerment and life-coaching, providing vocational and life skills for Yezidi women, the victims of war and captivity inside the Islamic State. We empower Yezidi women post-rescue from Isis, giving them dignity & valuing their dreams while giving them vocational skills for a bright future.
• The Hope Clinic: The Hope Clinic is a conventional & holistic medical clinic serving both our students and the residents of Shariya Refugee camp.
• Hope United: Hope United empowers Yezidi kids through sports Playground built, teams thriving. Goal: an onsite indoor gym for male and female students.
• Horses for Hope: Providing equine assisted learning and psychological therapy to survivors of ISIS, orphans and youth at risk. The Springs of Hope Equine-Assisted Therapy and Learning Centre will provide facilities and therapy horses to help the students form healthy relationships with the horses and give them the skills and responsibilities that will aid them in their growth and healing process.
• The Hope Garden: The Hope Garden is an opportunity to offer education in sustainable agriculture, food production and preparation, small business and landscape management as well as other related topics and industries. By offering hands-on experience and partnering with online education platforms, the Hope Garden is a powerful learning hub for children and adults alike. Hope Garden at Shariya Camp provides food, education, and solace. We grow fruits, veggies, and have plans for beehives and handmade soaps.
• Building Hope: Rebuilding lives for Yezidis displaced from Sinjar since 2014. Join us as we build new homes for families who desperately need it.
• The Hope Academy of Music: Training students to an international level in classical and traditional Kurdish music.
