About us
4C - Cooperate Communicate Create Change is a non-profit NGO focused on youth, inclusion, empowerment and sport as a tool for intervention and social interaction. 4C is an organisation based in Athens, Greece with the main goal of lifelong learning through differentiated and experiential activities.
Our Vision
We aim to inspire youth engagement in our activities and European programs. Additionally, we strive to educate youth workers, fostering values such as collaboration, teamwork, and fair play, while championing democracy, human rights, and accessibility for all.
Activities:
• Our activities are based on two pillars. The first concerns the EU, democracy and the protection of human rights. The second concerns sports, healthy lifestyle and social inclusion through sports.
• We have a network of local partners that we engage in different projects in order to achieve local meaningful impact. We train different age groups (teenagers, young adults, facilitators,) in order to inspire and stimulate self-directed and peer learning. We also aim to motivate them to become involved in their communities and to raise awareness about current values like equal opportunities, social inclusion and cultural diversity.
• Through sports and non-formal education methods, we implement innovative initiatives in Athens contributing to a sustainable, inclusive and meaningful future of solidarity.
Projects:
• Beyond Maps: Beyond Maps is a project focused on creating a positive impact on the physical, mental and social health of young people in Greece, Austria and Latvia through the sport orienteering. By promoting this sport we aim to combat the sedentary lifestyle, mental health challenges and social isolation that many young people are faced with nowadays.
• GET UP (Gender equality toolkit using pedagogy): In a 36-month endeavour, the GET UP project seeks to enhance gender equality in sports through innovative educational tools, uniting expert organisations to transform learning approaches and promote inclusivity.
• Civic EU - Young Civic monitors for the future: Phase I: Youth Capacity Building and Civic Monitoring Action; Phase II. Youth empowerment for dialogues around EU policies; Phase III. Sharing outputs and policy recommendations to enhance youth participation at a local level).
• Girls with attitude: Girls and women have traditionally faced more barriers than men in seeking access to football and sport. This project focused on the exchange of good practices among women's football clubs and the creation of a transnational network that provided valuable recommendations for supporting girls and women in sports and their respective clubs. This project shared knowledge and expertise to improve the quality of support provided to women and girls in sports across borders.
• EU Youth Zone: This project took a multilevel approach to encourage young people to use their voices and express their views and opinions on matters concerning the European Union, to understand European citizenship and Euroscepticism and develop ideas for future Europe. The activities included research, debates as well and the development of quizzes on the EU as a mobile phone application.
• Intercultural Sports Challenge: The main objective of this project was to provide educators, teachers, and social workers with tools and insights into how sport can be a vehicle to promote inclusion in the learning environment. We also aimed to provide sports coaches with tools to make sports practice more inclusive for children of immigrant backgrounds and those who belong to different cultures. This served as a way to contribute and share the culture of sport as a combined tool for education and social inclusion.
• INclusive TRAditional Games: This project aimed to encourage social inclusion through sports by promoting traditional sports and games in open sports centres.
