About us
Team Revolution was established in 2016 and is dedicated to empowering children and women. Following the successful completion of community organizing training at the Tatua Fellowship Center on Ngong Road, participants were challenged to tackle negative issues within their communities. Securing financial support after the six-month training was difficult, but thanks to the Ghetto Classic Orchestra‘s assistance, it was possible to register a community organization named Team Revolution.
The challenge I sought to address was the creation of job opportunities. Alongside other youths in my community who shared this objective, we initiated agricultural activities and fish farming. The goal of these agricultural endeavors was to diminish criminal behavior, which was contributing to incidents of rape.
Vision
Create a thriving, inclusive community where every individual has the opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to a sustainable future.
Mission
Transforming society through the social network, the introduction of empowerment and transformation programs to eradicate poverty and negative vices in the community.
What We Do
We empower young people to have equal opportunities in the market, gain control over resources and decent work, and have autonomy over their time, lives, and bodies. We also aim to enhance their voice, agency, and meaningful participation in economic decision-making, from personal to international levels.
• Scholarship Program: Our scholarship program in the Korogocho community is designed to uplift underprivileged students by providing them with access to quality education. Recognizing the significant barriers to education faced by many families in Korogocho, we offer full scholarships that cover tuition fees, school supplies, uniforms, and additional support services such as mentoring and tutoring.
• Extra-curricular Activities: We offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities to the youth, designed to foster holistic development and provide opportunities beyond the classroom. These activities include photography program, videography, video editing, fine arts, music and chess classes and coding
• Women Empowerment: We aim to increase women’s participation in the creative industry by increasing women directors and cinematographers to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), directors and particularly on ending poverty, on food security, on ensuring health, to achieve gender equality, and to promote full and productive employment and decent work for all also on reducing inequalities.
• Entrepreneurship Training: Women’s economic empowerment includes women’s ability to participate equally in existing markets; their access to and control over productive resources, access to decent work, control over their own time, lives, and bodies; and increased voice, agency, and meaningful participation in economic decision-making at all levels from the household to international institutions.
• Bringing dreams within reach for women: We aim to sustain and enhance the health of human beings by ensuring also the health of the soil, plants, animals, human, and the planet as one and indivisible. Healthy soils produce healthy crops that foster the health of animals and people
