About us
HELP OUT (founded in 1997) is an independent, not-for-profit, non-partisan, non- governmental human rights organization, which began as a small grass-roots organization of individuals from diverse backgrounds in 1996 where its members met to reflect on issues of human rights abuse in Cameroon, and how it had affected them on a personal basis. The group began to develop resources, knowledge, and skills to assist themselves, which eventually were shared with the wider community.
Mission Statement:
Working to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the disadvantaged particularly at grassroots level in the vital areas of human rights promotion leading to basic socio-economic upliftment.
Goal:
Empowering the less privileged on human rights issues to enable them achieve their basic development aspirations.
Primary Aims:
• Enhancement of human rights awareness in consonance with universally accepted norms of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
• Assist in the full integration of disadvantaged groups particularly women, children, the aged, physically challenged, and victims of gross human rights violation into society.

• Facilitate access to basic educational and health care facilities to disadvantaged groups.
• Network with other local and international organizations to increase awareness on developmental issues.
Help Out focuses its activities on these key areas
• Human Rights Education,
• Prison, Legal and Democratic Reforms,
• Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and
• Rural Infrastructure Development.

• The Professional Housekeeper Training Program
Training:
Help Out / The Professional Housekeeper Training Program: This Training Program was created to train housekeepers and child careers so that they acquire essential skills as professionals and explore the hundreds of job opportunities that abound in Cameroon and other countries. Educating disadvantaged young girls and women in Cameroon will bring an end to illegalities such as human trafficking. These efforts persevere in creating a sustainability that will be passed onwards to generations to come, aiding in not only the personal development of the women but also in the development of the nation as a whole. Training modules include Housekeeping; In the kitchen; Basic child care; Health and safety; Effective communication; Protocol etc.
Clarkson Obasi is the Executive Director of Help Out.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
