About us

We are
a non-profit animal welfare association from Düsseldorf, registered as particularly worthy of support and equipped with all permits, with several branches, our own animal shelter and over 1,200 registered foster homes (PS) throughout Germany - of which around 50 PS are occupied as standard and a few more are kept as backup for emergencies (separation, illness, etc.). Others are taking a break or have become "foster home failures", i.e. they have adopted their protégé.
We have been cooperating successfully with many German and foreign animal shelters in four EU countries (PT, ES, HU and RO) since 2011.

Since the beginning of the Russian attack on #Ukraine in February 2022, the board and other volunteers of NAREV, together with various partner organizations, have been on site every week in the crisis areas and border regions of Ukraine to create humanitarian AND "animalitarian" corridors in their #TierbrückeUkraine.

The board is also on site in the earthquake area in the Hatay region of Turkey and is supporting the rescue work (Search And Rescue) of the German professional animal rescue and the local animal welfare organizations as part of the #AnimalHopeUnited project. Together with its cooperation partner VETO-Tierschutz, the NAREV was able to distribute 25,000 kg of pet food and provide veterinary care to hundreds of domestic and farm animals at the beginning of March. They are supporting local associations in caring for the homeless animals. Here, too, the WDR accompanied an operation.
