About us

Sylvester Berlin is a recognized provider of child and youth welfare and was founded on 31.12.1993.

It was humanity and social commitment that brought us together on 31.12.1993, with the goal of establishing an association and, incidentally, welcoming the new year of 1994. It was all about combining the civic engagement of individuals. To this day, all our members are united in their desire for solidarity and togetherness, and this is implemented in practical ways in their neighbourhood or district.

Today, our association supports daycare, community and family education projects and is involved on many different levels in the Treptow-Köpenick district.

Projects:
• Woodland kindergarten "Bude Kids": Since 2013 we have been giving children a chance of experiencing holistic learning in the forest as a balance to life in the big city. They are given the opportunity to experience their environment in a practical way and with all their senses and to reshape their partially lost bond with nature
• KITA "Plön Dwarves": Since April 2014, the big and small Plön Dwarves have been upsetting their neighbourhood in Oberschöneweide. Here we live, argue, play, discover and explore in two mixed-age groups. It is important for us to accompany the children in a natural and situational way, using the Montessori educational approach.
• The "Bude": The multi-generation garden "Bude" creates a meeting place for young and old in the Allende district in a variety of ways. The Bude is an open project for children, young people and the whole family and offers space for meaningful leisure activities in Berlin Köpenick.
• ISAR Project: Inclusion, Self-Efficacy, Acceptance & Respect - The Network for Voluntary Guardianship in Treptow-Köpenick.
