About us

The Empowerment Action Programme (TEAP) is a Non Government Organization, committed to capacity building, women empowerment and facilitating child development.
TEAP aims at ensuring capacity building of grassroots community groups acting most especially in the fields of women, children and youth with focus on empowerment through peer education and participatory planning and program implementation, HIV/AIDS care and prevention and supporting people with disabilities
We are based in Mukono Municipality, Central Uganda and carrying out its activities in various parts of the country. The organization was founded by several individuals who were concerned with the suffering and needs of vulnerable women many of them being single mothers.

Vision: To see a holistic transformation among less privileged women, men and children improve in their wellbeing economically, physically, socially and spiritually.

Mission: To build capacity of less privileged persons, empowering women and promoting holistic child development and foster viable community development.

Our objectives:
• Building the capacity of community based organizations to be able to provide effective, appropriate services in their localities.
• Empowering women especially single mothers, to become self sufficient and self reliant.
• Facilitating holistic child development, promoting care and concern to orphans and vulnerable children, supporting them in short and long-term needs.

What we do
• TEAP is focusing on, intensifying effective and appropriate services to women, youth and children.
• Empowering vulnerable women with tools and skills to enable them to increase in their economic productivity. Will lead them to become independent decision makers in their lives. The support will include motivational speaking, counseling and guidance, training in vocational skills, provision of income generation grants in form of revolving loans. Sensitization for building awareness in human rights, domestic issues, parenting, property rights, children´s rights and health and wellness.
• We are supporting orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) on short-term and long-term basis in all aspects of life. Children are provided with education through paying school fees, clothing, meals at schools, medical care where needed, beddings and shelter. We aim at leading children to become change makers and responsible men and women of integrity and reliable citizens. Currently 151 children are enrolled to be supported in Mukono, Kamuli, Namayingo and Nansana. Conducting child counseling sessions during weekends and holiday periods and monitoring children who have special needs to ensure that they get appropriate education and all other children´s rights.
