About us
The Ukhondo Services Foundation (USEF), founded in 2006, is a Malawian NGO (non-governmental organization) that is dedicated to integrated community development through the provision of safe drinking water, promotion of sanitation and hygiene, conservation of the environment and implementing projects aimed at mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDs.
Ukhondo Services Foundation (USEF) works in the Karonga district of Malawi. It aims to contribute towards the elimination of gender inequalities in sexual reproductive health, education and economic opportunities. The organisation fights against gender-based violence, harmful traditional practices and HIV and AIDS through awareness-raising activities and by providing safe spaces for women and girls and encouraging their participation in development activities.
Our mission is to enable communities to build a sustainable lifestyle through a focus on health, safe water provision and sanitation promotion, HIV/AIDS, food security, community-led development and our special attention on climate change and our commitment to women´s empowerment.
The Ukhondo Services Foundation is transparent and accountable to the donors, the community it serves and all the stakeholders, including the government in Malawi. We manage projects in line with decentralization structures.
Edgar Malume Phiri is the Executive Director of the Ukhondo Services Foundation (USEF).
