About us

The association Blossom Children's Aid was founded in February 2014.
Our mission is to support children's homes in Nepal and the Philippines.
The association pursues exclusively charitable and benevolent purposes by promoting education, international understanding and health with the goal of helping the people to help themselves.

Projects:
• The DTCH in Kathmandu: In our new project we are working together with the Tibetan monk Geshe Sonam Wangchen, the leader of the aid organization "Hope and Challenge". With the DTCH he has created a home in Kathmandu for former street children. The Dickyi Tsering Children's Home was named after the mother of the 14th Dalai Lama. For the Tibetans, she is the epitome of love and compassion. 21 children from the capital and surrounding villages live in this home in Kathmandu. They can now go to school and have a loving home. Tibetan women have taken on the task of foster mothers with a lot of heart and dedication. In this project, we are working closely with the non-profit organization "Tibet Tshoesem e.V.".
• The HKH in Kathmandu: The Dolpo region is located in northwestern Nepal, near the border with Tibet in the Himalayas. It is one of the most isolated areas of the world, at an altitude of 4,500 metres, and at the same time one of the poorest regions. For most people, there is neither medical care nor healthy nutrition. In the remote mountain villages, there are no secondary schools, so that even children who perform very well can not continue their education after elementary school. With our project "Himalayan Komang Hostel" we want to change this. For the first time in the history of the village of Komang some gifted children are getting the chance of a good education in Kathmandu. When they have finished school and vocational training they can return to their homeland Komang. There is a desperate need for teachers, doctors and nurses there, as the area is extremely remote and the living conditions there are very harsh. Himalayan Komang Hostel was founded in November 2013 on the initiative of Tulku Dorjee Tsewang Rinpoche, together with Arantza Casas, Nyima Bhuti and Anton Barro.
• The NKCH in Kathmandu: until the beginning of 2016, the children in the New Kopila Children's Home in Kathmandu had no solid help and sponsorships. This small children's home was underfunded and lacking in every respect. By early 2016, the lack of donations was threatening the existence of the children's home. Together, we were able to help the foster mother Prajola to secure the children's future and school education and make them look to the future with confidence.
• SAMCH in the Philippines: In July 2014, Sister Juliet from St. Agnes Montepulciano Children's Home turned to us for help. She had started working there and was appalled at how poor the care was. It lacked everything. The little children who now live in the St. Agnes home have all suffered bad experiences. At the children's home they should at least get enough to eat and clothes and school education. In 2017 godparents were found for all the children in the home. Thanks to the sponsorship contributions, the children are now doing much better. Nevertheless, individual donations continue to be needed to cover maintenance, school fees, school supplies and above all to ensure the children's medical care.
• Finding sponsors to provide childcare, school fees, school supplies and medical care for the children of the home.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
