Sobre nosotros
ARMDS is a non-profit voluntary social development organisation working among and for the empowerment of the marginalised groups and communities such as children, women, dalits and the people with disabilities.
It is registered under the Tamil Nadu Government Society Registration Act in the year 1988 and has been registered for charity status and income tax exemption respectively. It is also registered under the FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) to receive donations and support from the overseas organisations.
Since 1988, it has been taking countless efforts to empower them and remedy the situation through various rehabilitative schemes and programmes. Creating awareness among the marginalised about their rights, providing opportunities to the aspiring youth from the marginalised communities and the youth with disabilities to improve their income-earning skills, linking the persons with disabilities with the resource systems, providing need based training to the grass-root NGOs on social development and initiating and supporting people`s organisations and linking them with human rights movements are some of the functions of the organisation.
ARMDS which is situated in Mugaiyur (Block), Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu, India was started by a group of like-minded educated youngsters from the deprived sections to strive for their rights of the suffering marginalised groups and communities such as children in especially difficult circumstances, women in distress, small and marginal farmers, dalits, and the persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Their main areas of work are in primary education, the rehabilitation of the physically disabled children in rural areas and with the Girl child.

• organisation of village communities,
• formation of village-level peoples organisations (youth, women, small and marginal farmers associations and parent-teacher associations),
