Sobre nosotros
The Ashish Centre is an early intervention centre run by Ashish Foundation for the Differently Abled (AFDA) Charitable Trust. This trust was registered in 2007.
The Ashish Centre seeks to work towards a society that views each person as being of value and importance and to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities as well as their families. Through an integral approach of intervention we work for the learning and growth of each child towards their God given potential and assist their families to be effective facilitators in this process.
The school will provide admission to all sections of society regardless of caste, creed, race, religion, economic and gender barriers, and will provide up to 97% scholarship to needy students.
In 2007 the Ashish Centre opened its doors with ten students. Most of children have autism, though we do have children with other developmental disabilities too, excluding visual and hearing impairment. 50% of these children are on scholarship which is decided on the basis of the income of the family.
We maintain a ratio of one special educator for every four children in attendance. In addition, there is one adult (as an assistant or volunteer) for every two children.
We provide them with:
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Therapy
• Behaviour Therapy
• Vocational Education
Besides the usual teaching as well as activities of daily living.
Geeta Mondol is the Director of the Ashish Centre and Trust.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
