Sobre nosotros

Global Minimum Inc (GMin), founded in 2008 and registered in the USA, is a charitable international organization that encourages young innovators and leaders in Africa to engage with critical thinking skills and hands-on learning programs to tackle challenges affecting their communities. GMin provides enabling tools, safe spaces, workshops, mentorship, resources and network, ultimately equipping young people in Africa with unique opportunities to take their future into their own hands. We currently work with young people age 15-20 in Sierra Leone, Kenya, and previously in South Africa.

Mission
Global Minimum fosters a generation of young innovators and leaders in Africa who tackle challenges affecting their communities through critical thinking and hands-on learning.

Focus areas:
• Enabling Youth: Helping youth identify local problems and come up with local solutions.
• Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Providing the opportunities and educational outlets for youth to learn.
• Building Community: Involving the entire community for sustainable change.

Programs:
• InChallenge: InChallenge program is a national invention challenge for youth in Sierra Leone, Kenya and South Africa. The InChallenge program elicits project proposals from youth around the country and offers design workshops, seed funding, and mentorship to select finalists in order for them to develop their conceptual projects into tangible solutions that positively affect their community. The InChallenge program enhances critical and creative thinking, promotes civic engagement, strengthens STEM literacies and develops entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
• InLab: InLab program is a ten-week after-school program that provides youth in select partner schools with the opportunity to learn problem solving skills, collaboration, and creative thinking through interest-driven curriculum. In collaboration with educators, the InLab program introduces topics and skills beyond what is taught in schools, such as electronics and programming. InLab program aims to foster entrepreneurial and creative capacities in youth, ultimately promoting a spirit of innovation.
