Sobre nosotros
African Relief Fund (ARF) was founded in 1996 in the city of London, UK. Over the past 20 years, ARF have been working tirelessly to implement various projects across the African continent more specifically in the Horn of Africa. ARF have been in the forefront of providing essential relief in response to natural disasters. hence, we have been able to give vital assistance to people living in the areas affected by droughts, famines, and conflicts.
At African Relief Fund, we are working to provide humanitarian aid and sustainable development projects to alleviate poverty, improve education in marginalized areas, establish a standard level of health, launch projects to secure fresh clean water and support orphans.
African Relief Fund works in regions where essential and adequate assistance is needed in education, clean water, agriculture, health, orphan care, emergency aid and skills training.
Projects:
• Building Masjid/Community Centre: The masjid is the vocal point for Muslim community, is a place of prayer for all, a place of meeting and deliberation, a learning centre and celebration. The masjid is a hub for remote villages and towns dwellers.
• Education Projects: At African Relief Fund we believe that education is a key to eradicate illiteracy and unlock opportunities for families who cannot afford to send their children to school. It also raises their capacity to find solutions to the problems they are facing. We focussed in building schools, training teachers, midwifes and skills.
• Emergency Aid: We have aided thousands of people affected by drought, famine, and conflict. Beneficiaries of ARF aid are mainly situated in the Horn of Africa. Our emergency and humanitarian relief involves assessment of the situation and rapid responses by providing emergency food, water and build communities resilience to reduce exposure to risk.
• Qurbani Project: It is the act of sacrificing an animal (sheep, cow, camel or goat) for Allah’s sake on the day of Eidul-Adha. One third of the sacrifice should be delivered to the poor and needy so they can celebrate Eid, second third can be given to friends and family to strengthen ties and the last third is for you to enjoy.
• Healthcare Project: Mobile clinics: At ARF, we deliver medical aids to the impoverished people with medical needs by organizing medical clinics. Our clinics have helped treat diseases in the region such as Malaria, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, Gastritis, Nutritional disorders, Diarrhoea and Liver Cirrhosis; Midwives training: We have initiated and implemented health-training courses for midwifes to reduce high maternal mortality (MMR) rates in remote areas. The project improved midwifery practices and saved many lives.
• Income Generation: ARF provides assistance and support to the less fortunate women in rural areas. We have introduced vocational training opportunities to them by training them on sewing skills and making sure they are able to generate a stable income.
• Orphan Sponsorship Projects
• Water Projects: Digging wells: We provide clean water to the thirsty people by digging wells and distribute emergency water in Somalia and eastern parts of Ethiopia; Agricultural farms: In order to reduce poverty, encourage local food production and enhance farming skills, we have identified number of agricultural farms owned by impoverished families. We provided those farming tractors, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides needed by the farmers to grow crops.
