Sobre nosotros
The Empower Women, Youth and Children (EARN) Project, registered in 2013, is an Ugandan NGO that works on issues related to agriculture, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, environmental protection, gender and human rights advocacy. Target client groups are women and child-headed families in rural communities in Northern Uganda.
Vision
Empower vulnerable women, youths and children with income generating activities, health, clean safe water, vocational skills and increase primary production of high value crops, Agro processing machinery, Agro forestry including food security and nutrition trainings.
Objectives:
• To improve on sexual reproductive health through communities advocacy and practical training on local/natural family planning methods, water hygiene and sanitation promotion and for the most vulnerable mothers groups.
• To increase women and vulnerable youth earnable income through micro-farming business and life skills training, vocational skills, entrepreneurships skills
• To increase awareness on HIV/AIDS through counseling and guidance.
• To increase primary livelihoods programs, production of high value crops and local chicken rearing for food and nutrition
• To increase access to safe and clean water to war victim communities of northern Uganda.
• To link community women saving’s groups to progressive agro processors and traders, information sharing and market opportunities.
• To develop farmers skills in rural group savings, loan and credit activities.
• To promote respect for human rights, gender roles and responsibilities through advocacy
Activities of the organization
• Children and women right including roles play in the family respectively.
• Community base line survey including households and schools dialogue.
• Mobilizing and sensitizing communities on health, education and agriculture.
• Health attention to vulnerable families affected and infected by war stigma.
• HIV/AIDS counseling & nutrition empowerment services.
• Empowering rural-vulnerable women, youth and children with income generating activities, vocational skills, saving groups and land matters.
• Agricultural support services and processing machinery (growing high value crops and poultry farming).
• Training on water managing, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) and MHMs in schools and communities.
• Advocacy on Children rights, persons with disabilities and empowering vulnerable women, youths.
