The IPE-Stuttgart, founded in 1991, is a cofraternity of people who were or are in psychiatric treatment. We exchange our experiences and support each other. In addition, we represent our interests in the committees of the city of Stuttgart.
The IPE-Stuttgart is part of the sponsoring association the Stuttgart Citizens' Mental Health Circle, but completely free and independent in its work.
We are supported financially by the city of Stuttgart and the Aid Society for Mental Health.
We are active in the health and social policies of the city of Stuttgart. We are represented and involved in various committees. Our most important goal here is the preservation of the interests of psychiatrists and those affected by psychiatry in the implementation of social and. health work in Stuttgart.

Psychiatric-political work is our task, which we constantly set ourselves anew. In addition to committees, and association work, this also includes networking with all groups engaged in psychiatry policy in Stuttgart. Collaborative and patient-oriented collaboration with local psychiatric clinics has already begun and is very important to us.

Projects:
• We concern ourselves with cooperation between the psychiatric clinics and the community psychiatric centres in the city of Stuttgart. We provide information, networking and advice on the possibilities of self-help groups in the city. Patients should be able to to inform themselves in the clinic about help available to them after their hospital stay.
• There are information stands and flyers in central areas of the Stuttgart psychiatric hospitals exclusively for psychological and psychiatric information material and information about self-help groups around Stuttgart.
• Action days in the clinics for self-help groups in the city of Stuttgart, as part of an information event.
• The IPE website offers as much networking as possible but also information about psychiatric assistance in Stuttgart

Harald Metzger is the spokesman / organiser of the Psychiatry Initiative Stuttgart (IPE Stuttgart).

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
