Sobre nosotros
The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF), founded 2002, is an award-winning international nonprofit charity dedicated to planting edible fruit trees to benefit the environment and all its inhabitants, to alleviate world hunger, combat global warming, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water. Our primary mission is to plant and help others plant a collective total of 18 billion fruit trees across the world (approximately 3 for every person alive) and encourage their growth under organic standards.
FTPF provides support, resources, and guidance for those interested in planting fruit trees and spearheads a variety of planting programs. These programs are aimed at enriching the environment, providing nutritious food sources for wild and rescued animals, and improving human health by bringing delicious, fresh, locally grown raw fruits and vegetables of the highest quality into the lives of all people.
FTPF also seeks to secure land throughout the world with the sole purpose restoring native plant ecosystems with an abundance of fruit trees and plants that benefit the surrounding air, water, and soil and provide food sources for wild animals.
Objectives:
FTPF orchards provide decades of harvest with little maintenance, as we install protective fencing and irrigation systems as needed. Results from a single FTPF orchard include:
• Alleviating hunger and improving health by providing essential human nutrition
• Improving the environment and combating global warming through the known benefits trees have for the air, soil, and water
• Helping animals by providing habitat, shade, shelter, and nutrition
• Empowering volunteers to take action for their environment and in their own lives
• Enriching communities by creating beautiful, healthy landscapes that benefit overall well-being
Programs
FTPF programs strategically donate orchards where the harvest will best serve communities for generations to follow, at places such as:
• public schools: Fruit Tree 101,
• city parks and community gardens: Communities Take Root/Global Cooling Zones,
• low-income neighborhoods and international hunger relief sites: Fruit Relief,
• Native American reservations: Trees for Tribes/Reservation Preservation,
• health centers: Roots of Recovery,
• animal sanctuaries: Orchards for Animals.
These programs are placed all over the USA, but also in India, Kenya, Brazil.
