Sobre nosotros
Opportunity for a better life
Poverty, hunger, violence, AIDS - in Tanzania many children and young people are struggling to survive. Every day they face huge problems that seriously reduce their chances of a (healthy) life, education and a self-determined future. We at time2help have been volunteering with Tanzanian children, young people and families in need since 2013.
Our partners:
• Living Water Children's Center (LWCC): The LWCC was founded in 2003 by the Kimaro family. Today the LWCC consists of an orphanage and two schools:
· The LWCC Orphanage is a loving home for 100 children and young people from the worst backgrounds, regardless of religion, skin colour or tribal affiliation.
· In the Yakini Primary School, all children of the LWCC are given a good education. The elementary school founded in 2008 has grown into a campus with more than 700 students over the years.
· At the beginning of 2017, the Yakini Secondary School opened on a terrain adjacent to the Primary School: Now the children no longer have to change to an external school after completion of the 7th basic class. They enjoy the excellent quality of Yakini education "on home soil" and can even earn their high school diploma (Abitur) here.
• TRMEGA (Training Research Monitoring and Evaluation on Gender and AIDS): TRMEGA has been supporting needy children, young people and students since 2011 as part of its MVC program (Most Vulnerable Children) in the greater Arusha area. With a great deal of expertise, the founder and director Helen Nguya and her team of five offer concrete assistance. Children and young people receive financial support for school education, subsistence and medical care. As long as there is no immediate danger, they stay with their families. The support goes beyond just schooling. Those who are willing to study may receive financial support that enables them to attend university or a secondary school. We help some of the (mostly female) "caretakers" of the children and young people we support to set up their own small business and thus generate regular income for themselves and their families.
• The Future Stars Academy (FSA) brings children and young people from all walks of life together and, in addition to sport, promotes important skills such as team spirit, responsibility, leadership and sustainability. The FSA does not yet own any sites or buildings and works on rented areas. A Youth Empowerment Centre (YEC) is to be created in which football training, further education and international cooperation will be made possible under the motto: "No School, No Play". time2help is currently supporting the work in the form of football sponsorships for poor children.
Current project:
• Building the Youth Empowerment Centre (YEC) – The starting point here is finding a funder to buy land on which to build the YEC.
