Sobre nosotros
The mission of SHENGO aims to develop the child's psyche, improve talents and eventually alleviate poverty, ignorance and diseases. Love, support and friendship are instrumental in improving their self worth and esteem. Education and vocational training will be provided to the kids who show aptitude in their work.
The goal of SHENGO is to help orphans, abused children, deprived/disadvantaged/street and vulnerable children to attain a better livelihood. Our primary target groups are children whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS.
Since inception, SHENGO has been actively involved in orphans and other vulnerable children support, clinical and home-based care, youth development, voluntary counselling and testing, people living with HIV/AIDS, vocational training and income-generating activities. In 2000/2001 they supported 150 orphans, offered clinical and home based care to 50 affected/infected with HIV/AIDS, trained 40 youths in leadership programs, counselled 30 youths, sponsored 12 youths in vocational training and initiated nine income-generating activities. The program operates in six districts of Trans-Nzoia, Turkana, West Pokot, Lugari, Bungoma and Sabot.
SHENGO collaborates with local and international volunteers, government and non-governmental agencies, and the communities themselves.
They are therefore appealing for any contributions that can be sent to them to help them achieve their goal. Children are the backbone of the nation. They need us, let us not turn our backs on them.
James Bwayo Walimbwa, a graduate agriculturist, is the Executive Director of SHENGO.
For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities and procure expert information or establish new contacts in the field of our work.
