Sobre nosotros

The society “Animal Protection in Spain” (Tierschutz Spanien) was founded in 2004 with the aim of improving the lives of dogs in Spain.

Our mission is to protect the animals and to save them from psychological and physical harm. Animals who are already ill can be treated or cared for. The society is altruistic, and not primarily profit making.

The society achieves its aims by:
• saving then finding homes for needy animals and those in killing stations as well as abused, homeless dogs. The animals mainly come from Spain and are placed with people who can provide a good home for them and who we are convinced will care for the dogs well.
• caring for and providing medical attention to sick animals

We carry out this work in our free time, alongside family and professional commitments. Each dog that, through our efforts, ends up in a good home and no longer suffers, spurs us on in our work.
We organise the transport and undertake it ourselves, too. One transport means a journey of approx. 4,000 kilometres. It is NOT our aim to fill German Dogs' Homes! Thanks to our preparatory work, the animals we bring from Spain to Germany are already assured of a warm basket!

Projects:
• We are building an Animal Home in Cordova. We have acquired a plot of land where we can achieve our aims and sensitise the Spanish people – explicitly children and youths – to animal protection. People who are interested can thus involve themselves in the daily tasks and learn to accept a dog as part of the family.
• Castration programmes in Caceres, Cadiz, Andujar and Madrid
• Andujar Refuge: buying and designing the kennels.
• Participation in the disbandment of a breeding station in Madrid and taking over a total of 25 dogs.
• Fencing in an outdoor enclosure in ANAA Madrid
• high repair costs on ANAA Madrid's transporter.
• Taking over the dogs from a pound in Germany.
• Contributing to the cost of a new transporter for Adoptalo Madrid
