PRO Bird is a coalition of German animal and environmental protection organizations with the aim of offering and guaranteeing professional rehabilitation of oiled birds at home and abroad. PRO Bird employees have more than 20 years of experience in this field and have worked all over the world.

PRO Bird and its cooperation partners are able to ensure all necessary steps of a professional rehabilitation of oiled birds in the context of a complex oil damage case.

Training programs, lectures and on-call services round off the services offered by PRO Bird. The close contact between the individual partner organizations as well as the regular professional exchange ensure that the quality and efficiency of the work in this field guarantees a high international standard.

Projects:
- The European Oiled Wildlife Response Assistance (EUROWA) Module is a project co-funded by the European Union to expand the available capacities for the rehabilitation of oiled birds in Europe. The project phase took place in 2015-2016. Further projects of the entire working group are currently being planned.
- The Global Oiled Wildlife Response System (GOWRS) is an industry-sponsored project that was launched in 2015. During the two-year start-up phase from 2015-2016, experts from currently 10 different organizations around the world developed a common standard procedure for emergency response and treatment schemes for affected animals. The beta phase of the project began in 2017 and will continue to analyze and develop further areas of optimized oilbird rehabilitation until the end of 2018. These include, for example, training courses, exercises and equipment issues.
