Ebenezer Community Development Organization (ECOD) is born out of the desire to propel development that is premised on socioeconomic development of the vulnerable population in our country

What we do
• Climate Justice: We support targeted communities for their rights to land, water, forests and natural resources and implementing sustainable projects in order to mitigate the effects of climate change for their own good and future generations. In this, we further aim to promote sustainable development to reduce the negative impact of human activities on the environment.
• Economic Justice: The interventions under this thematic focus area aim to contribute to the improved socio-economic status of all and mainly the organization’s target group through increased incomes and both formal and informal opportunities for economic freedoms.
• Child Development and Protection: To strengthen families in providing care and protection of Children. Ensuring that children grow up in safe, nurturing, and supportive environments is fundamental to their development and well-being.
• Food Security, Nutrition and Livelihood: Interventions in this thematic focus areas are aimed to improve food security, nutrition and income security for targeted communities but also build the resilience of vulnerable groups
• Humanitarian Response and Disaster Risk Response: In the course of disasters and emergencies in the targeted communities, ECOD provides immediate humanitarian relief to the communities. Additionally, the organization capacitate communities so that they are resilient to climate shocks
• Health including mental health and WASH: We support women, girls towards ending discrimination, stopping violence and live a life of dignity, safety and health. This is meant to improve access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene services for targeted communities and increase access to preventive and curative health services.
• Education: Interventions under this thematic focus area aim to increase equal access to quality education for all especially the vulnerable groups which include children, youth, people with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS. Skills building is also a key component within this pillar hence vocational trainings are prioritized. Therefore, the organization is more concerned with increasing access; improving education quality and supporting the access to education
• Advocacy, Human Rights and Peace Building: The interventions under this pillar are aimed to promote resolution of disputes, reconciliation, building and coexistence in Malawi including unity among refugees and host communities. Additionally, we conduct civic education and promote participation of women and youths in public affairs including enhancing collaboration on human rights and governance.
• Gender & Disability: Activities relating to this pillar are aimed to strengthen the voice and independence of people with disabilities in targeted communities and to support elimination of Gender Based violence and any barriers to Gender equality. These interventions are trying to contend with challenges of household resilience to shocks is low especially in rural areas;
