Sobre nosotros

African youth Volunteers for Peace (AYVP), is a non-governmental organization that was formed and got registered in the year 2012.

Our mission is to empower youths to effectively participate in building and consolidating peace as a foundation to sustainable human rights, socio-cultural, economic and political transformation in Africa and environment/climate change awareness

African Youth Volunteers for Peace (AYVP) project aims to improve the social conditions and livelihoods of conflict-affected communities and facilitate social transformation and promote participatory local planning. This will be achieved by targeting the beneficiaries themselves and strengthening participatory planning mechanisms at the community, divisional and district level, thereby creating environments conducive to peace building and conflict transformation.

People affected by conflict and instability are often best positioned to know what their communities need to create lasting peace. Local conflict transformation can have a big impact globally. AYVP connects communities worldwide to foster peace, sustainability, and shared security. We look at risk factors in five areas: family, community, school, individual and peer group. Then we work together as a collaborative to provide services that will reduce those risk factors.

Priority areas of focus:
• Gender and governance,
• Youth and Entrepreneurship Development,
• Youth and Agriculture,
• Youth and climate change,
• Youth and Peace,
• Gender and Economic Decision Making.

Empowering Youth Program
AYVP empowers youth by increasing learning opportunities. The aim of this empowerment is to establish a wide-based community movement which encourages the positive involvement of young people in solving issues which affect them, treating them as resources, not as problems.

AYVP seeks to address the livelihood needs and promote social transformation of the districts by adopting an integrated and area-based approach through community-focused volunteering and capacity-building recovery efforts. AYVP is providing various opportunities for international volunteers to join volunteer projects in Uganda. Join, learn and share is the main goal of participating in these wonderful activities. AYVP offers a unique experience to make a difference around Africa and bring the benefits of that experience back home.

Ssebuliba Wilson is the Director of African youth Volunteers for Peace (AYVP).
