Sobre nosotros
The objective of "Aid for West Africa", founded in 2002 and registered as a non-profit organisation, is to support and promote self-help projects in West Africa, in particular Gambia, Sierra Leone and Senegal.
The purpose and aims of the association are to be realized by the following measures:
• education and information exchange for members and the public about the situation of people in these West African countries, for example by slideshows.
• implementation of self-help projects.
• material support for hospitals, orphanages and schools.
• arranging sponsorships
Projects:
• Jam Project: Our production of mango jam, honey, chili paste, etc. in our training centre in Lamin Daranka School is now running independently very well, as long as we provide the necessary equipment, mainly the jam jars.
• Water for Kappa: Our well project in the village of Kappa in Gambia has been successfully completed. This could not be taken for granted with this project. It was preceded by many conversations, plans, considerations and setbacks. Finally, a 10,000 square metre plot of agricultural land was able to be irrigated.
• Support for the infirmary in Karang, in Senegal, by deliveries of aid.
• Relief supplies for Sierra Leone: We have already sent off two 40-foot containers to Sierra Leone, laden with basic food, hospital beds, disinfectants and clothing. (In cases of infection or suspected infection, all the garments of the person concerned and of everyone who has been in close contact, are burned).
• fence for the village of Mamouda
• arranging sponsorships
