Sobre nosotros
Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM) is a leading non-government organization (NGO) in India, engaged in conservation of, education about and research on nature. In the year 1992, SNM started its work in the pristine region of Konkan on the western coast of Maharashtra state in India.
"For a better future, we shall protect the nature" - This is our slogan, loosely translated from Marathi.
Our mission
Nature conservation through field protection, awareness, education and scientific based action.
SNM has successfully organized various projects in nature conservation, protection and education with its limited resources.
Our current major projects include:
• The Konkan Vulture Project: Participatory Vulture Conservation in the Northern
• Conservation of Marine Turtle
• Conservation of Indian Swiftlet (Collocalia unicolor)
• Study and conservation of Whitebellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster)
• Breeding biology of some bird species
Bhau (Vishwas) Katdare is the President of Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM).
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
