The Adeline Foundation is a children´s charity founded in 2015 and registered in the UK supporting and working with disadvantaged and underprivileged children in Africa. We plan to initially start in Sierra Leone. Our programmes are around education, health and social welfare. We are a small voluntary organisation with the big ambition of fighting illiteracy and poverty in Sierra Leone.

Provide a meaningful childhood to disadvantaged children by improving the quality of life through equal education, healthcare, protective services and sustainable community development.

Our Activities
Our plan is to provide an early educational opportunity at the very early stage of their lives. We believe that early education has the ability to form the child’s mental capacities. Both verbal and numerical skills are developed in the early years. Being able to read, write, speak and listen in the language or languages of the culture is of primary importance. Being able to perform basic mathematical functions allows the child to undertake transactions even in the market place.
The preoccupation of the Adeline Foundation at the moment is the education of disadvantaged and underprivileged children between ages of 2 and 12 years in Sierra Leone. Starting in the East-end of Freetown with a model of academic, technical and social education for children at pre-school and primary school levels; we hope others will emulate us.
Working in partnership with the Adeline Preparatory School in Brima Lane in the outskirts of the nation´s capital Freetown Sierra Leone, we are primarily dedicated to the education of children from every background by providing them with preparatory-type education before they enter mainstreaming secondary school. In the last four years, the school has registered over 300 children from age 2-14 years.
The Adeline Preparatory School provides children with an opportunity to gain the necessary literacy and numeracy skills, and an all-round education for a brighter future. In addition, the school has also provided the children the opportunity for participating in sporting activities, dance classes, drama projects and debating challenges for older children.
We are look forward to the day when we shall be able to provide a free hot lunch at least once a week for the children. Special attention is given to cleanliness, hygiene, discipline and positive work habits so that children are able to join the societal mainstream in a broader sense.
The Adeline Preparatory School is recognised and approved by the City Council of Freetown and the Ministry of Education. Presently our efforts are concentrated in preparing children for secondary school, but when those children reach the age for secondary school we shall consider extending out preparatory strategy to secondary school, preparing teenagers for college or university or workforce education.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
