The KIT (Creativity - Innovation - Technology) initiative is a network of voluntary work, non-profit potentials and private-sector activities. Essentially, existing skills and best practice examples are discovered, promoted and combined into new value chains.

Concept of the KIT initiative:
• Sustainability through shared enjoyment of one's own actions
• Broad promotion of sports, music, crafts, technology etc.
• Individual, intercultural and interdisciplinary support

KIT aspires to create an innovation-friendly climate and link education with innovation. In educational chains from kindergarten to vocational training or university, and using the strengths of both young and old, projects are provided which will benefit them for their whole lives.
The KIT initiative aims to evolve into a grass roots educational movement that will develop talents that will create leaders. The great challenges of our society and the world of work demand well-qualified, creative people.
The KIT initiative inspires children, adolescents and adults in mathematics, computer science, science, technology and crafts (MINT).
KIT sees itself as a complementary leisure facility, comparable to a sports club or a music school. The KIT initiative endeavours to initiate craft, technology and innovation associations in many cities in Germany as well as to discover and network existing potential and "projects of passion".
Projects:
• Network European Innovation House: In European Innovation House and its regional groups such as "Innovation House Ruhr" inventors, artists and pioneers of the "Free Scenes" of education, culture, innovation and ingenuity meet others with a "project of passion”. Sponsored by KIT, lovers of technology meet each other, furthering peace and intercultural understanding.
• Participation in the annual international inventor fair iENA
• Basic certificates: Similar to certificates in swimming (with names like “seahorse” in Germany) there are the certificates Woodworm, Electric Lightning, Splash of Paint, Wooden Spoon, Mechanikus, Mathematics, Wibbel the Tailor, etc.
• Hammock model for pensioners: new formats for effective and humane collaboration between young and old.
