Sobre nosotros

Modern slavery affects over 40 million people globally, and we can’t prevent it alone. Founded in 2005 in Cambodia, Chab Dai means “joining hands” in Khmer and is an organization committed to working with diverse stakeholders to abolish all forms of abuse and exploitation. Two years later, Chab Dai Coalition was established after conducting a baseline assessment among existing organizations to see what the main issues were, who was doing what to address them, and where were the gaps and overlaps. So we’re working together in Cambodia, the US, the UK and beyond to protect, educate, empower and reform at every level.

The Cambodian Coalition equips organizations and their staff through trainings and capacity building, in order to build a stronger community of anti-trafficking practitioners in Cambodia. The aim of our coalition is to see member organizations lead the way forward in raising the standard of care for victims, survivors, and those at risk of being exploited.
There are currently 51 member organizations in the coalition, including both national and international organizations, and those working in small grassroots programs to large policy-level advocacy initiatives. These organizations represent the majority of civil society in Cambodia who are working among the most vulnerable and marginalized populations of men, women, and children, seeking to address issues of sexual abuse and trafficking as well as provide social services to those who have already been exploited.
• Provide capacity building trainings based on the needs of our members, such as Child Protection, Basic and Advanced Counseling, and Program Management Cycle.
• Host Chab Dai’s Bi-annual Members Meetings in Phnom Penh and in the provinces to bring together our 51 members for a time of learning and networking

Our vision.
We see the world where communities live in dignity, harmony, and freedom.

Our mission.
We seek to end all forms of abuse and modern slavery globally by building a movement to empower communities, to strengthen systems, and to restore justice and wellbeing with survivors.

Our work
• Working together in Cambodia and beyond to educate, empower and reform at every level. From building a well-connected and competent network of anti-slavery organizations sharing knowledge and learning resources and referrals, to providing counselling and legal care to survivors – every day we make it our mission to do what it takes to ensure that everyone is able to realize their human rights and be free from the threat of modern slavery.
• Movement building: Building connections within the anti-slavery and antitrafficking movement by facilitating learning, strengthening protection mechanisms, improving standards and professional responses to the challenges.
• Community Empowerment: Supporting and empowering local communities to protect vulnerable individuals, families and neighbours through education, training and access to services.
• System Strengthening: Working with Government and local authorities to build a solid foundation of responses and support for modern slavery and human trafficking survivors and at-risk communities – from prevention to restoration.
• Survivor Restoration: Providing direct care to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking through community-based counselling and social services and giving access to legal representation and justice so they can be empowered to thrive.
