Sobre nosotros
The Association of Explorers is a democratic organization governed by a Council selected at yearly General Assemblies. The Association is an NGO dedicated to teaching young people about the world's cultures. The Council then selects a chairman, who is given the authority to act on behalf of the organization and who appoints the Council of Program Coordinators. Victor Tsoy has been the chairman of the Association since 1996.
The Association of Explorers (AofE) is composed of three divisions, each of which devotes itself to a particular sphere of activity. These divisions are Ecology Education, Ethnography Education and Scouting.
The Ecology Education program carries out a wide variety of activities. Through its "School Under The Open Sky" (SOS) the Association uses alternative educational techniques to teach high schoolers the fundamentals of ecology.
The Ethnography Education program is carried out under the auspices of the Association's "School Under The Open Sky" (SOS). Through SOS, the Association uses alternative educational techniques to introduce high-schoolers to the fundamentals of ethnography.
The Association is funded through member dues, private donations, and the generous support of over 15 sponsor organizations, most of whom are located in the Tashkent area.
The Association of Explorers works with over twenty partner organizations in Uzbekistan and abroad, including Counterpart International (USA), International Youth Exchange (Holland), Institute for International Migration Issues (Holland), and The Northern Alliance for Sustainability (Holland), Slow Food movement (Italy). We are always looking for additional partner organizations for collaboration on joint projects and for the exchange of ideas and volunteers.
For other net participants we can expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, deliver a lecture, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
