Qui sommes-nous

Aramitan is a Socio-Cultural Development Centre in Embu Guaçu (São Paulo-Brazil) which offers the local and international Community a safe and open space where a wide range of Projects and Cultural Events take place contributing to make the motto "another world is possible" come true.
Aramitan encourages young people and adults who are willing to take responsibility and make a commitment for social renewal. With the involvement of people from all around the world we are building another kind of globalization, the globalization of love, brotherhood, commitment and responsibility.

In December 2005 the Aramitan project was founded by husband and wife Santiago and Sandra De Marco who currently live in New Zealand. In Aramitan there is a strong Team of young people who coordinate the project.

There is a strong network of local people around Aramitan who contribute with its work in different ways!

There is also a great international network of Aramitan members who in different ways contribute from Japan, Spain, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, etc..

Our aims:
• To promote love to the human being, providing opportunities through education, culture and health, mainly to the under privileged people in order to provide them with material, social and spiritual development, stimulating them to act consciously and with love.
• To promote recreational, cultural and environmental activities.
• To promote educational activities for children, adolescents and youth.
• To develop professional and vocational courses for young people.
• To promote professional training courses and trainee working placements for community educators.
• To promote youth protagonist/leadership.
• To provide support and to serve as a platform for the local and international community.
• To work in partnership with and alongside similar goal oriented entities.
• To promote educational activities and campaigns in the area of health.
• To provide overall support for children and young people under personal and social risk.

Education and daily live in the community is also based on the four pillars of education for the twenty-first century described by UNESCO.
1) To learn to know
2) To learn to live together
3) To learn to act
4) To learn to be

Long Term Goals:
• The development of homes for children
• A farm
• A school
• Training facilities
• Exploring the possibility of creating jobs for the locals through a possible business scheme.

We like to see Aramitan as a living platform in which local youth and youth from around the world can be empowered by taking social responsibility and contributing through Aramitan to make our world a better place for all.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, procure an expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
