Women for Change (WFC) is a Zambian gender focused NGO working with communities, especially women and children, in rural areas to contribute towards sustainable human development using popular education methodologies.

The organisation was born out of an NGO known as Canadian University Services Overseas (CUSO) and was known as CUSO's Women's Development Programme (WDP), until 1992 when it was transformed into an indigenous NGO known as Women For Change.

Recognising the importance of good governance, respect for human rights and democracy as necessary conditions for human development, WFC has strong advocacy and human rights education components in its programmes and activities.

Programs:
• Gender Analysis And Awareness Raising: Women for Change undertakes activities to promote and support gender sensitivity
• Human Rights Education: Women For Change facilitates Human Rights Education among rural women and men as well as traditional leaders so that they actively on human rights issues that affect them and are able to act on human rights issues affecting them, and also that they can demand their basic rights such as clean water, food, education, health and shelter.
• Income Generating Activities: WFC also facilitates the development of viable and participatory co-operatives. WFC group members are involved in various activities such as: goat-keeping, piggery, trading, and gardening.
• Advocacy: Women for Change advocates for policies and practices that are gender-sensitive, just and effectively respond to the plight of the poor. Additionally, WFC promotes public awareness on rights of women and children.
• Overall Youth and Child Development: Women for Change also has a skills empowerment programme for youths in its operational areas. Youths are trained in carpentry, gardening and seed farming, among other skills, and are provided with necessary tools and inputs to sustain themselves economically.
• HIV/AIDS Sensitization and Impact Mitigation: Women for Change is working towards poverty eradication in the WFC operational areas because of a strong conviction that there is a link between poverty, gender, human rights and HIV/AIDS. Women for Change is also intensifying advocacy for policies and practices that are gender sensitive, just and effectively respond to the plight of the poor and those affected and/or infected by HIVAIDS.
