Qui sommes-nous
The initiative “83 - Constance Integrated” is a non-profit organization founded in 2015. A group of dedicated citizens has set itself the task of providing 83 recognized refugees with a room in Constance - one room per thousand inhabitants of Constance with a population of 83,000. At the same time, it sees itself as the interface between citizens with unused housing and public administration.
We organize the mediation:
• Register room: You register your free room on our website. For this we need some information about your living situation.
• Meeting up: Our team looks for a tenant who could fit the expectations of both sides. We are in contact with all initiatives in the district which are entrusted with the care of refugees. An informal first meeting is agreed - not alone, but with a member of “83”. This meeting does not take place in your home, but for example in a café. After the conversation, both sides have time to decide and the “83” member will contact you again. There are concerns? No problem! Our team goes back to look for a different candidate. Or the first impression was good and both can imagine it? Wonderful! Then a regular tenancy agreement with the usual period of notice is created: In a separate apartment with a private entrance this is three months. In a room in a shared flat or as a subtenant it is two weeks. For recognized refugees, the job centre takes over the rent unless the refugee is employed - then he pays himself.
• Living together: When your new tenant moves in, it's up to you both to work out how you live together. For three months, a member of “83” will assist you with advice and practical help. We work with other aid organizations that help - if desired - to find internships, language courses or pre-employment measures for the refugee.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
