Qui sommes-nous
Returning to Spirit (RTS) is a non-profit charitable organization born out of a partnership and vision between an Indigenous man, a religious Sister and a talented design team to address the divisive legacy of Indian Residential Schools (history).
Returning to Spirit (RTS) is a charitable non-profit organization that leads reconciliation workshops between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous persons across Canada.
Our mission is to create a cultural bridge, and give everyone a chance to transform the negative legacy of the Residential Schools, to one of empowerment and possibility.
Our work
• Our Indigenous and non-Indigenous trainers form the heart of our organization, supported by our Keepers and the Board of Directors.
• We design and deliver workshops that reconcile one's spirit with the perceived "other."
• We move individuals, families, organizations and whole communities forward through the principles of personal empowerment and community leadership.
• We welcome community partners to continue the process of transformation.
• Our work goes beyond healing. It provides conditions for transformation and mindfulness in all relationships.
Our programs:
Reconciliation is the experience of restoring peace within yourself, others and life, no matter what the circumstance. This includes the impact of Indian Residential Schools and other painful experiences. Each RTS program builds on the insights you have discovered from the last workshop in profound ways. The one day events or Nibble and Learn events provide individuals with a taste of what others describe as the "transformative" experience of the Returning to Spirit (RTS) work.
• Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Foundational Workshops: An experiential workshop on re-awakening your personal power and spirit for living. The workshop is focused around the challenges of letting go of the past and the opportunities of creating a powerful future.
• Reconciliation Workshops: An experiential workshop in which Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants have the opportunity to sit down one-on-one and communicate spirit-to-spirit with no blaming and no making wrong.
• Seminar Series: An 11-session series that deepens the experience of the workshop and supports participants in creating possibilities for transformation in their communities.
• Conferences & Presentations: We offer half-day and one-day conferences through which interested individuals and organizations can get a sense of the work that we do. Contact us for more information.
Lisa Raven is the Executive Director and a Certified Trainer for Returning to Spirit.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
