Shabelle Relief & Development Organization (SHARDO) is a local NGO, nonprofit and nongovernmental organization operating in middle Shabelle, Banadir, Galgaduud, Hiraan and lower Shabelle regions of south central Somalia. The organization was founded in 1995 with the endorsement of the community leaders and the local authorities as well.

The organization has mainly focused on education, health and nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation, livelihood, mother health care for communities in operational regions.

Mission
The mission of SHARDO is working towards stable peace, human rights and developmental programs with collaboration of relevant stakeholders in order to improve socio-economic conditions for communities in south & central of Somalia.

Vision
SHARDO desires to see the realization of sustainable development in Somalia.

Goal
• Poverty alleviation programs through small-scale food production such as availability, stability and access to food.
• Illiteracy elimination through sustainable, qualitative and accessible basic education and vocational training for every gender.
• To improve the quality and accessibility of drinking water.
• Raising community awareness regarding to self-reliance, influencing decision making process, ownership, and democratization and strengthening civil society of all genders.
• To function as an advisory organ between local community, international donor organizations.
• Develop the skills of staff through training
• To promote the awareness against child violence.

Hassan Sharif Hashim is the Executive Director of the Shabelle Relief & Development Organization(SHARDO).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
