Qui sommes-nous
Founded in 1979, the non-profit “Associação Comunitária Monte Azul” is an everyday, one-stop shop for people in the slums of São Paulo, Brazil. Together with the residents and the city administration, this NGO runs a variety of initiatives and aid projects - with the aim of improving the quality of life in the slums and, in particular, providing comprehensive support to children, young people and women.
The work of the Monte Azul Community Association is based on the foundations of anthroposophy and the Waldorf education system which developed from it.
Our mission
Our work seeks to enable love to arise between people, regardless of nationality, religion, ethnic origin, political convictions, social status and material conditions. Through upbringing, schooling, culture and health care we offer especially disadvantaged people the space to develop materially, socially and spiritually and to act consciously in freedom and love.
Our vision
We see ourselves as an organisation that seeks innovative and creative solutions to the demands of today by bringing its experience and beliefs about social life – based on anthroposophy – into the life of the community, deepening them and making them more transparent.
