Unite The World With Africa Foundation (Unite) is a USA-based 501c3 established in 2014 to serve, educate and empower the poor. Since 2014, Unite has raised and invested more than ,000,000 in education, health and business-development programs across Tanzania
Our Vision
A world in which people unite in service, crossing borders seen and unseen, so that every human may live with health, hope, opportunity and dignity.
Our Mission:
• to provide opportunities for impoverished and marginalized youth and women across Tanzania
• to thrive & prosper by investing in and developing quality education, leadership & business development programs.
Programs and activities:
• Unite Scholars & Mentorship Program: Educating, mentoring, empowering & preparing extraordinary Tanzanian youth to become global change agents.
• Mjane Jasiri: Brave Widow Program: Unite is committed to empowering as many impoverished-yet-entrepreneurial widows as possible with loans, grants & mentorship to help them not only survive but THRIVE and achieve independence, dignity, self-respect and self-reliance.
• Maternity Africa: Health Care & Education for Teen Mothers: Unite began supporting the work of Maternity Africa and their Kivuluni Maternity Center through which they which provide free quality clinical care to the poorest and most vulnerable new and expectant mothers throughout the Arusha district and surrounding areas of Northern Tanzania. Unite has provided funding to support the provision of free antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to impoverished, at-risk teen mothers and to execute a teen-education program teaching girls about how to care for themselves and their babies when they go home.
• Warriors for Change Program
• Future Stars Sports Academy: Future Stars Academy provides a comprehensive soccer program and life-skills training for at-risk youth across Northern Tanzania.
• Tanzania Maasai Health Education Program: In partnership with Dr. Gideon Urion, Annie Francis and Tati Oliver (founder & director of Tanzania Maasai Women Art - TMWA), Unite completed a third-year Health, Education & Screening program to better serve the Maasai women, children and community of Mkuru, Tanzania.
• The Heaven Pre & Primary School: We renovated the pre-primary building; constructed and extended toilets blocks for both the boys and girls; installed hand washing stations; built a block of seven new primary classrooms as well as an administration building (which includes now a fully stocked school library, a computer lab, teacher offices, a conference room and indoor toilets); installed a playground, basketball sport court and playing fields; installed comprehensive rain water harvesting systems on all the buildings; and more. In May 2017 we brought TANESCO power to the school and in November 2017 we completed the building of a 10-foot wall to secure and protect the ~5 acre campus.
• The St. Joseph’s Orphans Center: From January 2014 to October 2019 Unite partnered with Sister Crispina Mnate, founder & Director of St. Joseph's Orphanage, to empower, educate and uplift the lives of more than 50 of these precious children.
• Unite has launched and invested in many village banks (VICOBA) and entrepreneurship & grant/loan programs for girls and women with such groups as Lake Eyasi Vocational Center, Moyo, Mkombozi Vocational Center and now with Unite’s Mjane Jasiri “Brave Widow” Program
• Unite has supported human rights initiatives with Action for Justice in Society (AJISO) and Hope For Girls.
• Through Unite’s partner organization, Unite The World With Africa LLC, we have brought and sent hundreds of Americans to Tanzania with Unite Tours Service Safaris and purchased and sold more than 0,000 of product to make a market for African artisans in America and to raise funds for Unite’s programs.
