Qui sommes-nous

Foundation Mi Casa en Ipauratu is a non-profit organisation that offers aid to residents in the Colombian villages Paluato, Guaimaral and Galapa.

We focus on improving the living conditions of disadvantaged families and individuals, many of whom live below the poverty line. This means they do not have sufficient resources to provide for themselves. Education and entertainment help to ensure a better future for the people in the community.

The Colombian Foundation Mi Casa en Ipauratu was set up when Inten and Jeovanny moved from the village of Galapa to Paluato. They were so moved by the poverty of the residents that they set up small relief operations to help them. Whilst these actions have certainly contributed to improving living conditions, the need for help was beyond anything they could offer when they began. This made us decide to establish the foundation Mi Casa en Ipauratu in Colombia (July 2009) and in the Netherlands (October 2009).

Our vision is that education is the first step to a better life. We offer schooling and other forms of education at several locations in the villages of Palauto, Guimaral and Galapa.

Alongside the education projects that we offer we also want to make a positive contribution to the lives of poor people in this community. We do this by providing short-term necessities. In the long term, we ensure that people can provide their own livelihood. This objective is achieved by:
• Providing basic services such as food, medical care and education
• Supporting local initiatives by providing financial resources or goods
• Job creation
• Creating awareness and generating support in and outside Colombia

• Cine Libre: Educational films and social debates
• Va pa esa: English lessons and footbal training for young people in Galapa
• Club D’Mentes: English lessons, leadership game and cultural understanding for young people
• Attencion social integral adultos mayores: Games, music and other activities for the elderly.
• Sumato: Home visits for children with disabilities
• M’Integro: Education for children with disabilities
• Centros de acción Infantil: Our kindergarten with fifteen children at Guaimaral

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
