Qui sommes-nous
Friendship Association for Community Education (FACE) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established by local community representatives and supported by former international volunteers. It was established in the wake of increasing social and educational problems combined with a growing frustration over the inadequate resource distribution, coordination and planning from existing aid and organizations.
Our mission
Uplifting communities through international collaboration, education and friendship.
The heart of FACE Nepal's mission is transparency (through direct contact with our local team and clear accounting) and sustainability (by ensuring community support and inclusion on all projects and sponsorships).
Volunteer Programmes
• Individual Volunteer Projects: Volunteers will make make new friends as they contribute to the development of Nepal.Volunteer programs are devised in collaboration with local organisations and communities and are based on the demands and needs of local residents. These programs are often flexible enabling you to develop close relationships with the communities involved. Programmes currently available include: Community Teaching Projects; Environmental Conservation Projects; IT Support
• Team Building Volunteer Projects: A FACE Nepal project is a challenging and culturally rich way to get your team working together. These unique aid projects help build a sense of team camaraderie whilst providing the participants with a feeling of perspective, appreciation and satisfaction for a cause well done. Our aims include: Building Team Cohesion and Relationships; Developing a Sense of Social Responsibility; Instilling a Sense of Appreciation and Grounding; Contributing to a Worthy Cause; Gaining a Culturally Rich Life Experience
• Specialist Aid Volunteering: If you are a field specialist in a practical area (this could include medical, dental, electrical, engineering etc.), FACE Nepal will aim to organise a volunteer experience based on your skill-set and the community needs. Expertise in basic health care, building and other hands-on areas are sorely needed in rural Chitwan and FACE Nepal will endevaour to cover or at least assist in your costs.
Sponsorship Programmes
• Child Sponsorship Programme— Have a lasting impact on one particular student's education and future. (Long-term and one-off donation schemes available).
• Project Sponsorship Programme— See a more immediate impact through one-off donations towards local projects varying in nature and scope. Projects sponsored by FACE Nepal are recommended by the local community, and require a level of community involvement in their construction to ensure long-term interest. They are reviewed by our Advisory & International boards to ensure the money requested is reasonable for the work required. Projects have previously covered a wide range from installing public toilets, building learning centres, providing hygiene amenities to a village and more.
