Support and Care for People with Disabilities Association (SCPDA) is an Ethiopian development local Non-Governmental Organization NGO, established in 2013, and founded by some visually impaired individuals and other persons with disabilities.
SCPDA is a young and growing up humanitarian charity association, founded purposively for working to the wellbeing of people with disabilities, to their care givers and their families. Its vision is creating equal educational and employment opportunities for all persons with disabilities and working empowering poor persons with disabilities, families and communities and enabling them to recover

Equal Opportunity in education and employment to persons with disabilities with the hope of creating conducive school and work environment, where all Persons With Disabilities can fulfill their potential and contribute to a just and secure future.
Mission
SCPDA empowers Persons with Disabilities, families and communities affected by poverty to recover from neglect and desertion and reclaim their lives and fulfill their rights
Goals
SCPDA’s main goal is to address PWDs providing caring, preserving and working for changing unsuitable environmental conditions and working on promoting equal opportunities in education, health care, economic self-sufficiency, and capacity building trainings to create conducive environment for the fulfilment and overall development of persons with disabilities.
Objectives
• Care for the health and well-being of persons with disabilities by providing medical and psychosocial supports.
• Working for changing the exclusive and oppressive environments and promoting comprehensive disability inclusive development.
• Developing the coping capacity of persons with disabilities and recovering, currying them from crises, disease and injuries.
• Empowering persons with disabilities through capacity building trainings, engaging them on income generating activities and thereby enable them productive, competent and economically self-sufficient members of their society.
Thematic areas:
• Inclusive Education: SCPDA has been provided educational support for Visually Impaired Children and for students who are Low Vision. It has been given and its implementation is ongoing till this year and will continue for the next two years. The association gives basic skill training by delivering courses such as braille English Writing and Reading, social skill, Health care and self-management skills, basic mobility and on the proper use of assistive devices.
• Income Generating Activities: SCPDA empowered people with disabilities economically by involved them in development activities.
• Health Care: On its health care theme Support and Care for People with Disabilities Association (SCPDA) implemented projects on sanitation and public hygiene, on HIV/AIDS control and prevention, care and support for survivors of HIV/AIDS through, psycho-social support and on personal health cultivation, annual specialized eye examination services on the partnership between the association and optometrist specialized hospitals are performed in the past years. In addition, SCPDA played prominent role in spreading HIV/AIDS related information by cooperatively working with other partners.
• Capacity Building Training: SCPDA provide capacity building training for stakeholders, staffs, community associations and community members. It has provided participative training in platforms and project lunching and Disability Day events.
• Advocacy: SCPDA work with stakeholders for the right of people with disability such as in the inclusion of students to regular schools especially in primary schools after graduating from Bishoftu school for the blind.
