Qui sommes-nous
PEPY Empowering Youth, officially US-registered as a NGO in 2007 and as a Cambodian-registered local NGO (LNGO) in 2015, is providing personal and professional development training to rural youth in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We are a team led by local Cambodians dedicated to helping individuals identify their dreams and find pathways to success. Starting at the high school level, our interwoven programs provide holistic support for young people to have the tools, network, and resources to succeed in school and thrive in the professional setting of their choice. PEPY is an acronym for “Protect the Earth, Protect Yourself”.
Our vision
A future where young Cambodians have the capacity to pursue careers to improve the quality of their lives.
Our mission
Connecting Cambodian youth with the skills, opportunities, and inspirations needed to reach their potential.
Projects:
• Dream Management Project: An elective course run in partnership with local teachers covering goal-setting classes, mentorship, and networking for rural high school students.
• Learning Center Program: One-year program with context-based training in English, Information Communication Tech (ICT), and soft skills for youth to excel in the current job market.
• Scholarship for Higher Education Project: Providing tuition, healthcare, mentorship, living allowance, and training to financially disadvantaged but ambitious rural youth to attend higher education institutions.
• Youth Innovators' and Incubator Program: Comprehensive soft skill and IT courses to prepare entrepreneurs to launch social enterprises or build resiliency and sustainability into their current workspaces.
• Future is Bright Lab and Library: The lab has enabled students to be more technologically proficient than we could have ever anticipated! Alumni and scholars use IT to promote their businesses, teach online, and are learning how to code!
• Youth Innovators’ Space and Incubator (YISI) Program: IThe purpose is to facilitate much needed training and workshops for new business owners and aspiring business owners. We focus on helping young people develop entrepreneurial skills and become confident job creators in the Siem Reap community. The team aims to diversify the job market, introduce more sustainable social enterprises, and ultimately increase job opportunities and learning experiences for youth.
