Qui sommes-nous

Our non-profit association Mutmachleute (encouraging people) has been helping and supporting people with mental illnesses since 2018, encouraging them and their families. Our non-profit organization is committed to broad-based digital and analogue anti-stigma work and campaigns for the destigmatization of mental illnesses. We are committed to self-help and we are available for lectures and workshops. Our mission is to educate the public about mental illness and to further a deeper understanding of it.
What we do
• Teaching about mental illnesses by those affected, relatives and experts on the one hand and on the other hand, measures to combat stigma and social exclusion due to psychological problems, because stigmatization and discrimination against people with mental illnesses can only come from Ignorance and fear of contact. Especially on the platform www.mutmachleute.de and in the associated social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), those affected, relatives, experts and celebrities describe and share their experiences in a positive way and encourage others in how to deal with mental illnesses. The aim is also to attract the attention of a broad public, to help destigmatize mental illness.
• Campaigns: We offer companies, institutions and NGOs the opportunity to develop, advise and implement campaigns together. Not each independently, but as a team working for civil society and political change. Together we can design and implement concepts within the company as well as ensure high-profile public appearances for corporations and companies.
• Travelling exhibition: Our travelling exhibition has large-format displays impressively showing people affected by mental illnesses, who encourage visitors with their stories.
• Lectures and workshops: Strengthening mental health in the company; Language, stigma and emancipation; The three pillars for more participation: self-efficacy, self-confidence and self-determination.
• Mutmachleute online self-help: Mutmachleute has developed an online self-help forum, funded by the federal association AOK, which provides a digital service nationwide. The forum is the digital and low-threshold counterpart to the classic on-site self-help group.

On request we can provide advice for other network participants, give a presentation, and provide current specialist information and contacts in the area of our work.
