HACOTA - Haradali Community Tanzania is a non-governmental and nonprofit organization (NGO) which was founded on August, 2018 and registered on 27th June, 2022 with registration number 00MGO/R/3421.
HACOTA is an organization representing the interests of women, girls, youth, children and disabled in Tanzania mainland.
Vision
HACOTA to be a strong, Non-Governmental Organization that promote significant development for the underprivileged especially for all Women, Girls, Youth, Children and Disabled.
Mission
HACOTAs main mission is to help community, women, girls, children, youth and disabled fighting against poverty, ignorance and diseases in order to bring sustainable development for their living standards.
HACOTA Objectives:
• Participate in Social development activities (Education, Health, Sports, Water infrastructures, Agriculture, livestock, fisheries, bee keeping and fish farming, finance, industry and Trade) where possible in all Districts of Tanzania.
• Participate in the fight against various diseases by providing prevention education, counseling and support to victims such as Widows, Widowers and Orphans.
• Participate in conservation by planting trees, sanitation and providing education on environment conservations.
• To educate the community about the effects of brutal killings on Women and Children.
• To provide education to the community on the values, culture and dignity of Tanzanians.
• To support and promote Civic education and good governance.
• Encouraging community to fight drug abuse and Sexual abuse.
Programs:
• Prevention of Gender Based Violence: Under this area, HACOTA empower different women stakeholders, local leaders and society in general by create awareness about gender issues, its effects on women and girl’s welfare. Also, we empower community through provision of education awareness so as to understand themselves better and change their negative mindset towards gender based violence.
• Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR): Under this program, HACOTA empower women and youth to understand their rights on SRHR, body changes and lobbying parents on importance of talking with their children about SRHR issues in order to change negative belief and attitude which exist in the society. The intervention of this program consists of community mobilization strategies to increase women and youth access to correct reproductive information, quality and safe reproductive services, promote safe motherhood, prevent unsafe abortions and advocate for policy change to achieve reproductive rights for women and youth.
• HIV/AIDS: In this area, HACOTA empower women, girls, boys and society in general by create education awareness on HIV/AIDS, whereby HACOTA provide education on how HIV can be transmitted from one person to another, on how community member can prevent spread of HIV/AIDS, Effect of HIV from family to national level. The intervention of this program consists of community sensitization, conducting seminars and workshop in the community on how to prevent HIV/AIDS, Community mobilization on importance of an individual to see their health status so
• Vocational training: HACOTA empower women, girls and youth on entrepreneurial activities so as to become self-dependent by creating their own employment. Through provision of entrepreneurship education and vocational training this can help community member especially women and girls’ access to correct information on entrepreneurship
• Supporting most vulnerable children: We as HACOTA, we also empower and supporting most vulnerable children by correct them from the street, or from the family which are poor and support material and immaterial needs and link them to different organization which can provide more assistance. Again, HACOTA advocate and lobbying the right of children, promote the well-being of the most vulnerable children.
• Environmental conservation: Under this program, HACOTA prevent factors that contribute environmental conversation in relation to fertility or infertility in the community especially Women, Girls and Youth. In our society women and girls are the one who conduct different economic activities in their environment. The environment provides both positive and adverse influences on reproductive health and development. Environmental factors can then be classified into categories such as physical, chemical, biological, behavioral, and socioeconomic. In many circumstances, multiple environmental factors may contribute to adversely modify women health. In order to make sure health of women and community are good, HACOTA make the following intervention so as to promote Environmental conservation. Through empowering women to friend of environment conservation in the society; Provision of education on important of planting fruit and nutritious trees so as to protect health status of the people and also provision of community sensitization on importance of environmental conservation for the present and future generation.
About projects:
• Past Activities: We have been involved in promotions of child education, preventive health education, income generations through agriculture, Youth and women skill training and empowerment, attending Agricultural summit and Energy Summit.
• Present Activities: Our present activities are geared towards the promotion of basic rights of women and children, preventive health education including HIV/AIDS, Youth and Women empowerment activities including Micro Credit and increase access to portable water and sanitation to schools.
• Plans for Next Five Years: Our plan is to increase access to portable water and sanitation to people and to join hands with other organization in the prevention of HIV/AIDS, elimination of human rights abuses against women and children alongside our present ongoing activities and programmes including economic activities in our project area
