Qui sommes-nous

Newcomers with disabilities in Sweden is a non-profit organization registered in Sweden 2021. Organization number 802537-7709. The association's purpose is to promote integration in Swedish society for refugees and asylum seekers with disabilities.
The organization will work both in Sweden and internationally. The activities will include but are not limited to creating and disseminating educational materials and information, planning, and running courses, holding, and attending seminars and study visits.
The association wants to promote integration of young refugees and asylum seekers with disabilities and will work together with other youth associations both locally and internationally.
The association is aimed at people of all ages, regardless of background. The association will also lobby for and increase awareness of better conditions for asylum seekers and refugees with disabilities.

Vision
We want Newcomers with Disabilities to be regarded as its own group and that their needs are met during the entire inclusion process.

Mission
Increase awareness of the conditions for asylum seekers and refugees with disabilities.

What we do
• Education
Digital literacy for all: We aim to close the gap between newcomers with disabilities and the Swedish society in terms of digital services and human rights knowledge.
• Networking
Peer support groups: We meet to help each other get through the inclusion process and brake isolation.
• Advocacy
We engage and empower: We participated in UNHCR’s Global Refugee Forum in Geneva with two refugee representatives and we participated in a panel discussion at conference Mental well-being as a key to integration in the Nordic countries organized by Nordic Welfare Center

Activities:
• We promote inclusion of refugees with disabilities in Sweden
