Qui sommes-nous
globalklang is a non-profit organisation based in Düsseldorf, Germany, which was founded in 2009.
We believe that the rapid technological and economic globalization, increasing migration and the desire of many people for orientation in a complicated world make cultural exchange more vital than ever. A knowledge of other cultures promotes mutual understanding and the preservation and maintenance of one's own cultural world.
Our work:
• We arrange concerts and festivals beyond the musical mainstream,
• promote intercultural artistic projects and
• inform the public about foreign music and dance cultures.
Children and young people who have come to us from other countries sometimes no longer know their "homeland", but still feel strongly attracted by their culture and would like to find their cultural home. globalsound wants to provide something that promotes mutual understanding and which is tailored to the needs of children and young people.
An important part of the association's work is to encourage foreign residents in our region who are active in music or dance. Thus, frequently-used terms such as integration, understanding and tolerance towards strangers do not remain empty words, but are given substance through practical cultural work.
Since its founding, globalsound has organised 4 festivals, 2 art exhibitions, 5 workshops and over 70 concerts. In the selection of concert programmes, we attach great importance to presenting artists and music groups who are active and successful outside the mainstream.
Manfred Werner is the president of globalklang.
On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
