Qui sommes-nous

Ushirikiano wa Africa na Ujerumani (Swahili) - African-German Partnership: A society was founded under this name in Kenya in 1993. Various projects were to be coordinated nationwide. Building the Malaika Children's Home was a top priority. The Committee of this African Association consists of 16 men and women who work in different positions in government, school, church, economic and social institutions. Sponsoring Associations have been supporting the orphanage in Kenya for years, and were able to finance many projects in the past, including the construction of schools, a boarding school, an infirmary, craft workshops, a community centre, agriculture and water and energy supplies. The German counterpart of the African Association, the Malaika African-German Partnership, was founded In Ottenhöfen in the Black Forest, the adopted home of the pastor Willy Schneider. It is from here that Willy Schneider, together with his wife Asuna and a host of friends, devote themselves to their life's work – the Orphanage in Kenya.

Our Aims
• human dignity, humanity, a perspective for the future.
• The primary goal is certainly the provision of basic human needs: food, clothing, human contact and love, medical care and education.
• In addition, our ultimate goal is to secure the children's future. Only if they enjoy a good education will they later have the chance of earning their own income. The situation is aggravated by the fact that orphans don't inherit any land.
• schools and training centres in Kenya involve costs. We want to enable every child to have at least the 8-year basic education and, where possible, secondary school, high school, college, university or vocational training (handicrafts, medical, educational etc.).
• In addition to the running costs, in future we would like to finance new projects at the orphanage. We also want to continue to help improve the infrastructure of the surrounding area.

Projects:
• photovoltaic system
• biogas plant
• water project
• tea cultivation
• AIDS program: The AIDS program is an integral part for our group of 40 - 50 infected women and men. Together with the organization Aids Help we support them with food, medicine and medical care and - if necessary - also with hospitalization.
• Laptops for Malaika
• Clinic: The Malaika Health Centre is our new clinic, a day clinic with some inpatient beds and a maternity ward
• Education and Vocational Training
• Greenhouse and dairy cows
• Fish pond: The diet for children is substantially improved by fish meals.
