Qui sommes-nous
Amansan Aid Ghana is a rural community youth non governmental, non profit organization that is into youth in agriculture and vocational skills training and education towards poverty reduction. They also enhance in education, campaigns and support of HIV/AIDS epidermic, Reproductive Health, Nutrition and Enviromental Issues as well as promoting gender. They ensure that people with less education and skills are trained to equip themselves to ensure better conditions of life with reference to street youth, single teenage mothers and orphans.
Amansan AID Ghana has set up a desk at Kyebi, the East Akyem District Capital, to cater for children who have been orphaned as a result of the AIDS pandemic. Accordingly, they have called on affected families to register such unfortunate children with them to ensure their upkeep and schooling. This came to light when the NGO held a global HIV/AIDS awareness campaign at Asiakwa under the theme 'HIV/AIDS and You' to sensitize students and the community on the scourge of the disease.
Mr. Owusu Akyaw, representative of Amansan AID in the district, called for love and care for AIDS patients noting that orphans who are left behind become a liability on society. Mr. Akyaw, therefore, called for a collaborative and proactive approach to ensuring that children who are left behind do not encounter similar predicaments as their parents. He noted that poverty was an underlying factor in the spread of the deadly disease and announced that Amansan AID Ghana had started giving technical and financial support to young men who want to go into farming. This, he said, would reduce the influx of the youth into cities to chase non-existing white-collar jobs.
