Qui sommes-nous

Siyabonga Drop-In Centre is a community-based (CBO), non-profit organisation (NPO). We are a facility of Johannesburg Child Welfare.

Activities:
• We provide a range of direct child protection services to abused, abandoned, neglected, orphaned and vulnerable children in the Greater Johannesburg area.
• New cases are reported to our Child and Family Unit. We also support people infected and affected by HIV.
• Our work remains focused on our core mission, that of being a protector of and advocate for, the safety, security and beneficial development of needy and vulnerable children.
• We run homes for children and youth caring for all their needs, facilitate adoptions and foster care, supervise and monitor children placed in care, provide home-based care, skills development and income-generation programmes.
• At this branch we provide a community support centre and run an after-care facility for school-going children from Grades 1 to 12.
• We work in conjunction with loveLife who run youth development workshops at our premises.

Our services:
• Awareness, Training and Prevention Services: Campaigns, Events and Workshops; HIV and AIDS Awareness, Health and Wellness Promotion; Information Provision and Referral Services; Promoting Delayed Sexual Debut/Abstinence; Training, Education and Development Programmes
• Human Rights and Legal Support: Advocacy; Identity Document and Birth Certificate Application Assistance
• Psycho-Social Support: Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence Survivor Support; Art, Culture, Sport and Recreation; Community Care, Support and Development; Counselling and Psychotherapy; Support Groups - General
• Socio-Economic Support: Nutritional Support; Skills Development and Income Generation Projects; Social Grant Application Assistance
• Treatment-Related Services: Home Community-Based Care (HBC); Palliative/End of Life Care

Patricia Makoro is the Director of the Siyabonga Drop-In Centre.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
