Qui sommes-nous
Foundation HELP is a non-profit making, non-governmental development organization, founded in 1998. Foundation HELP's headquarters are located in Musoma, which is in keeping with the policy of decentralization. It has group members in five districts in Mara region and the organization has established a supporting office in Dar es Salaam City.
The foundation works in the areas of education, environmental and natural resources management, water and sanitation, sustainable agriculture and food security, gender and development, youth, peace and human rights, lobby and advocacy.
Foundation HELP is committed to help needy people to discover and share resources, that transform life. It pursues this commitment through integrated, holistic transformational development, that is community based and sustainable. All its work is designed to bring about hope and a future to the women and children of Tanzania.
Foundation HELP is concerned with human development, which it sees as a process of individual and social transformation. This process starts where people are with their own unique reality. It is a process of enabling that helps people recognize the resources within them and around them that makes change possible. It is not something done for them by others. Projects carried out in the community belong to the community and thus primary accountability for the conduct of projects is to the people of the community, rather than to
Foundation HELP. Foundation HELP applies the following criteria to all its projects:
- the inspiration, leadership and essential expertise must come from the community itself,
- it must address causes rather than symptoms,
- must assist low income and underprivileged groups and especially women, youth and children,
- can be adopted by neighbouring communities, to suit local need.
For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Further we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, deliver a lecture, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the following fields: environment, peace, human rights, women rights.
